Academics

Dear Students and Parents,

We are very excited to offer this year’s program of study for the first year (2018-2019) of the White River Valley High School.  We have been working on the new offerings contained within this catalog for the last two years, while jointly undertaking the merger process for the school districts.  We are excited about the new possibilities for all students working within our system. Our hope is to present you with a comprehensive program of study that allows students to explore their passions and aspirations for the future.

We want to make sure that students benefit from all of the possibilities during their high school experience. This can only happen with careful planning as students select classes.  Within this catalog, students will see sections of courses that are offered more than once. They will also see a large number of new courses offered in Mathematics, Sciences, English Language Arts, the Visual and Performing Arts, as well as many new electives.

It’s important that students work towards organizing a four-year plan that maps out their academic path towards graduation. We hope students will think about their academic path carefully before signing up for classes that interest them.  If students need assistance in the selection of courses, they should not hesitate to contact their guidance staff members. The staff will guide students by answering questions for them and their parents during the course selection process. Teaching staff are also available to assist students in making the correct course decision and mapping out a long term plan that suits them best.

We hope for a wonderful experience at the White River Valley High School for all students and look forward to helping create a pathway for learning that will serve them well into their futures.

Sincerely,

Bruce C. Labs
