Health Education
Although health education has been required in high school for many years, the new White River Valley School district will also offer health to elementary and middle school students.

In addition to exploring important topics such as nutritious foods, safety, and the dangers of drug use, our program will teach critical skills for helping students lead healthy lives. These skills include accessing valid health information, analyzing influences, communicating safely and effectively, making healthy decisions, setting goals, practicing healthy behaviors, and advocating for a healthier world.

At the high school level, students will have the opportunity to strengthen each skill while exploring age-appropriate content areas such as peer pressure and substance abuse. Numerous research studies show that healthy students are better able to learn at school. By expanding health education across the White River Valley district, we hope to equip students with the knowledge and skills they need to be healthy life-long learners.
